New Site in the Big Bratsk Project Scenario

A new project is called Reconstruction of the Turbine Department of the Boiler and Turbine Area, Process Power Plant-3.  It is being implemented due to repeatedly increasing energy prices.

It is expected that the Mill's future scope of steam production and consumption will significantly increase upon implementation of the Big Bratsk, the largest investment project.  The existing scheme of steam distribution and current turbine fleet do not allow to use live steam potential efficiently, significant part of which would be transferred through pressure-reducing cooling stations or to end of life low-performance turbines.   For maximum use of live steam energy potential for electric power generation, there was an idea to transfer RB 14 under construction from 40 to 90 bars and install higher capacity 90 bar back pressure turbines with a total capacity of 56 MW.

Turbine start-up will take place after their installation in November-December 2012.  This project has obvious advantages:  additional own energy supply, decrease of energy consumption from external energy systems, which means saving, efficiency, and further development.
